HR Director, (People, Organization, Culture) Western Africa

 Introduction                                                                                                                                     

 

The Human Resources Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company's HR functions . This role is critical in shaping and executing HR strategies that support the company's growth, employee engagement, and talent management objectives across the WAF region.

As the HR Director, you will play a key role in aligning HR initiatives with business objectives, driving organizational effectiveness, and fostering a positive workplace culture. This position requires a strategic mindset, strong leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams across the continent.

 

 Minimum Requirements and Skills                                                                                                                                        

 

  • Bachelor's degree, Masters in Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree or relevant professional certification is a plus.
  • 5 – 10 Years of progressive HR leadership experience, with a focus on the African region.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing HR strategies that support business objectives.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to travel within the African region as needed.

  1. Strategic HR Leadership:
    • Develop and implement HR strategies that align with the company's business goals and objectives.
    • Create a Roadmap per year that ties and aligns with Group HR Strategy
    • Provide strategic guidance to senior leadership on human capital management, organizational design, and workforce planning.
  2. Talent Acquisition and Management:
    • Oversee the development and execution of talent acquisition strategies to attract and retain top talent.

Collaborate with regional HR teams to ensure effective onboarding, development, and retention of employees.

  1. Employee Relations:
    • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, ensuring a fair and consistent approach.
    • Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture that reflects the company's values.
  2. Performance Management:
    • Lead the design and implementation of performance management processes to drive employee development and performance improvement.
    • Provide coaching and guidance to managers on performance-related matters.
  3. Learning and Development:
    • Develop and implement training and development programs to enhance employee skills and capabilities.
    • Identify opportunities for leadership development and succession planning.
  4. Compensation and Benefits:
    • Oversee the design and administration of competitive and equitable compensation and benefits programs.
    • Ensure compliance with local labor laws and regulations related to compensation and benefits.
  5. HR Compliance:
    • Stay abreast of changes in labor laws and regulations across African countries and ensure HR policies and practices remain compliant.
    • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to address HR-related legal issues.
  6. HR Technology and Analytics:
  • Leverage HR technology and analytics to drive data-driven decision-making and enhance HR processes
  • Implement and optimize HRIS systems to streamline HR operations
  • Ensure effective use of the BI Portal and veracity of information into it
