Within the Research Department of our Technical Department, you will join a team specializing in ship safety modelling. Our team is at the forefront of BV M&O on issues related to the safety of new marine fuels (natural gas, methanol, hydrogen, ammonia) and CO2 capture.

 

Your role will be to contribute to the definition of gaseous discharge scenarios based on risk and to carry out detailed studies of discharges and associated risks, for the ship projects entrusted to you (customer studies or R&D).

 

Your missions will include:

- Participate in technical studies requiring your knowledge of thermodynamics, process engineer, single or two-phase jets and associated dangerous phenomena (dispersion, release, flammability)

- Contribute to the realization of R&D projects and commercial studies with our industrial and institutional partners

- Develop our internal tools and methodologies: Excel, Python, Modelica

- Participate in international working groups (IMO/IACS/ISO) and contribute to the regulatory development of the maritime sector.

 

Through your involvement in our large-scale international projects, you contribute to preserving the reliability of maritime technologies and the safety of people for a sustainable energy transition.

Trained as a general engineer (school/university), you have initial experience in R&D or in a design office. You are planning a technical career with concrete application of engineering tools in the field of innovation and maritime safety.

You have a good foundation in Energy or Chemical Processes, Thermodynamics, Gas and Combustion and have initial experience in these areas. Knowledge of risk analysis methods is required (industrial risk, HAZID, FMEA or QRA).

 

Listening to the needs of your colleagues and partners, you appreciate new problems and you adapt to the situations encountered. Your sense of service, your autonomy as well as your interpersonal skills will contribute to your success.

Given the international environment of the position, you are fluent in oral and written English. You travel occasionally in France, Europe and the world.
