As part of the strong development of BV Solutions M&O, we are looking for a Ship Modelling Engineer and Data Analyst to strengthen our team in Nantes (44).

BV Solutions M&O France is a technical advisory assistance company (risk analysis, CFD & ship performance, structural and propulsion) whose new services are dedicated to the energy transition of the maritime sector.

Our clients include shipowners, shipyards, oil companies, and offshore engineering companies. Our agency in France has 40 engineers and generates a turnover of around 5 million euros. We offer extensive expertise in various maritime domains to bring about positive change in the sector.

Within the Maritime Energy Transition Advisory team, you will be responsible for :

 

  • Conducting and supervising energy modelling studies as part of industrial projects, as well as analyzing data acquired on board ships to extract performance information and/or prediction deviations from the models
  • Bringing strong scientific, technical, and mathematical expertise to the team
  • Contributing to the realization of consulting studies for the decarbonization of maritime transport
  • Participating in R&D projects and the continuous evolution of our expertise

 

You will be in direct contact with our clients and partners.

 

More experienced profiles can also :

  • Take charge of managing R&D projects.
  • Participate in commercial prospecting actions and proposal writing.

You hold a degree from a top engineering school (ENSTA Paris, Ecoles Centrales, Mines, ENSAM...) with a specialization in mathematics and applications and/or a scientific doctorate ideally related to the themes of the described mission.

 

You have a minimum of 5 years of professional experience during which you have addressed numerous ship technical issues.

 

Skills required :

  • Modelling of energy systems
  • Knowledge in data analysis (and statistics)
  • Scientific programming language such as Python / VBA programming

 

And ideally :

  • Knowledge of SIMULINK / MODELICA language
  • Project management
  • Seafaring experience
  • Knowledge in ship performance, weather routing

 

Proficiency in fluent English (written and spoken) is essential.

 

You are rigorous, organized, passionate about technology, and have a strong team spirit.
