We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Assistant Operation Manager to strengthen our Fuels Division. This role serves as a critical bridge between the Operations Director’s vision and on-the-ground execution. You will be responsible for ensuring operational efficiency, maintaining project profitability, and upholding Bureau Veritas’ standards of excellence across all cargo service lines.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Excellence: Support the Operation Manager in planning, directing, and coordinating daily operations across Oil & Gas, Marine, and Agri/Biomass sectors.
- Resource Management: Optimize the allocation of manpower and equipment to ensure all inspection projects (including Charcoal Cargo and Petrochemical) are delivered on time and within budget.
- Quality Assurance & Compliance: Oversee the technical integrity of inspection reports and ensure full compliance with ISO standards, internal procedures, and government regulations.
- Process Improvement: Identify operational inefficiencies and propose systematic improvements in field practices, particularly in vanning inspections and factory audits.
- Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong professional relationships with key clients, port authorities, and relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
- Reporting & Analytics: Prepare weekly and monthly reports on operational performance and team KPI achievements for management review.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 7–8 years of experience in the TIC (Testing, Inspection, and Certification) industry, with at least 3 years in a managerial or assistant managerial role.
- Technical Mastery: Comprehensive understanding of Marine Cargo Survey (Draught Survey, Supervision), Oil & Gas cargo, and specific experience in Biomass/Charcoal commodities.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead large teams and provide effective mentoring to field supervisors.
- Business Acumen: Solid understanding of operational cost management (P&L at unit level) and man-hour efficiency.
- Language: Fluent in English (spoken and written) for regional coordination and international reporting.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (S1) in Engineering, Marine Transportation Management, or a related scientific field
