Education & Professional Certifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or an equivalent technical field.
Preferred Certifications:
Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP) – Building Commissioning Certification Board (BCCB)
Commissioning Authority (CxA) – AABC Commissioning Group (ACG)
Certified Data Center Specialist (CDCS) or Professional (CDCP) – EPI
Accredited Tier Specialist (ATS) or Accredited Tier Designer (ATD) – Uptime Institute
Experience
Total Experience: Minimum 8–10 years in critical facilities engineering, mechanical/electrical systems testing, or building commissioning.
Direct Data Center Experience: At least 5 years leading commissioning efforts in mission-critical environments (hyperscale, colocation, or enterprise data centers; minimum 10 MW critical load).
Hands-on IST Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading Level 5 Integrated System Testing using real resistive/reactive load banks.
Technical Competencies
Deep operational understanding of:
Electrical: Medium-voltage/low-voltage distribution, paralleling switchgear, static/rotary UPS topologies, Li-ion/VRLA battery systems, and automated transfer schemes.
Mechanical: Chilled water loops, adiabatic cooling, containment architectures (cold/hot aisle), CRAH units, psychrometric performance, and leak detection.
Controls: SCADA, EPMS, Modbus/BACnet protocols, dynamic Sequence of Operations (SOO), and automated failover sequences.
Proficiency with testing equipment (power quality analyzers, thermal imaging cameras, flow meters, airflow hoods).
