About the role
As the Compliance/ Legal Officer based in Indonesia, you will provide critical compliance and legal support across a diverse range of matters, ensuring compliance and mitigating risk for Bureau Veritas. This role offers exposure to compliance and its related investigation, contract negotiation, corporate governance, and strategic advisory work within a global organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide compliance training and advice
- Support compliance program and activities rolled out by Head Office including but not limited to Annual Compliance Declaration
- Conduct investigation and provide recommendation on potential breach of Code of Ethics reported under whistleblowing system and other channels
- Review and negotiate client contracts to align with Bureau Veritas principles and good contracting standards.
- Manage corporate governance activities, including maintaining registers and supporting Boards and Company Secretaries.
- Provide legal support across insurance, property, intellectual property, disputes, and compliance reporting.
What you’ll bring:
- Bachelor of Laws degree, with related experience (preferably 2-5 years of experience).
- Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail.
- Will to work hard and be flexible in terms of timing and context
- Ability to learn and adjust in a short period of time
- Ability to work under pressure
- Strong contract review and negotiation skills, with demonstrated experience in a similar role.
- Ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and build strong stakeholder relationships.
