Social Specialist
Bureau Veritas is looking for a Social Specialist to be based in one of the projects in Java.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop an implement strategies to engage with local communities, stakeholders, and project-affected people (PAPs).
- Ensure effective communication between the project team, local communities, and other key stakeholders to address concerns and foster positive relationships.
- Conduct social impact assessments (SIAs) to evaluate the potential effects of the project on local communities and the surrounding environment.
- Identify potential social risks and benefits, providing recommendations for mitigating negative impacts and enhancing positive outcomes.
- Establish and manage a grievance redress mechanism (GRM) to address any complaints or concerns raised by affected communities or stakeholders.
- Ensure that grievances are resolved in a timely and transparent manner, in line with the project’s policies and local regulations. Design and implement community development initiatives that align with the project’s social responsibility goals.
- Work with local communities to support social programs, such as education, health, and employment opportunities, contributing to the long-term development of the area.
- Monitor and evaluate the social impacts of the project throughout its lifecycle, ensuring that mitigation measures and community engagement strategies are effective.
- Prepare reports on the social performance of the project, highlighting successes, challenges, and recommendations for improvement in future activities.
Qualification:
- Bachelor's degree in social / communication / management or relevant discipline
- Minimum 15 years experiences
- Experience in an expatriate or international project environment
