1. Minimum shall hold Diploma 3 Degree (D3), preferable in Mechanical/Metallurgical Engineering
2. Minimum of 5 years appropriate experience and training in Oil and Gas or Petrochemical Equipment
3. Hold certificate BNSP/MIGAS for static equipment and/or Piping Equipment inspector
4 . Hold certificate Welding Inspection by AWS (CWI/SCWI), CSWIP 3.1/3.2, PCN Level II or III
5. Hold certificate NDT Level II Certified by PCN/CSWIP/ACCP, MT, PT, and preferable UT or RT
6. Conversant and competent in the interpretation of general arrangement, isometric, and detail drawings and process and instrumentation diagrams, along with welding and NDT procedures and requirements for qualification of personnel and procedures
7. Conversant with setting out and orientation techniques from reference datum points along with verification of weld symbols and physical dimensions of all equipment including but not limited to: Static equipment, Vessels, Tanks, Heat Exchangers, Filters, and in particular termination points for vessels and packaged equipment
8. Conversant and competent in the review of material certification against applicable standards or project material specifications. The review shall include the verification of traceability of materials, material properties (mechanical, corrosion etc), chemical analysis, PMI results, heat treatment details and final condition, PREN, Carbon equivalent, Ferrite / Austenite balance.
9. "Have experience and working knowledge of:
- casting and forging process and associated flaws
- non-metallic valve components
- main NDT methods (MT, PT, RT and UT)
- surface preparation and coating
- industry practices for FAT and Site testing of valves"
