Overview:

Position Title: Analyst III

Business Title: Analytical Chemist III

Entity: Consumer Products Services Division

Department: ATL

Location: Boston, MA

Reports to: ATL Manager

FLSA: Non-Exempt

 

 

Hours Worked: Onsite Monday through Friday, forty-hours per week.  Preferred start time between 8:30-9:30am for an 8 hour day.  Must be flexible to meet the needs of the department and complete other projects as assigned.

 

Position Summary:

 

The Analytical Chemist III is responsible for bench work, supporting Scientist by running routine assays, preparing instruments and buffers for HPLC related assays and method development.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

 

  • Support research scientists with their experiments based on company protocol, method, and procedures.
  • Independently run routine HPLC and UHPLC-based analytical assays following already established methods, help with routine data capture, analysis and storage.
  • Run routine non-LC based assays
  • Do assay performance check on equipment using an internal standard reference for quality control.
  • Support method development
  • Support scientists with weekly buffer preparation and daily calibration and maintenance for analytical instruments.
  • Follow GLP and good documentation using electronic lab notebook.
  • Help with organizing and cleaning the lab and work environment.
  • Follow documentation and safety practices.  
  • Assist with maintenance and troubleshooting (hardware & software) for lab equipment.
  • Follow the guidelines set forth with clients and Company Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environmental policies and procedures.
  • Comply with clients’ and Company management systems in accordance with appropriate regulatory agencies.
  • Perform other essential tasks projects and responsibilities as required.

Education and Experience:

 

  • Degree requirement: PhD in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry or closely related field
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience with pipetting, HPLC, UHPLC, LC-MS

 

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of above.
