Position Summary

Responsible for General Ledger accounting, including balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and various AP / AR responsibilities. Apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information, and prepare financial schedules by compiling information, and utilizing appropriate accounting control procedures.

 

Objective

 Ensure proper accounting principles are maintained (GAAP and IFRS) and assist the SSC Supervisor with general accounting matters in accordance with Bureau Veritas accounting policies and procedures.

 

Major Roles & Responsibilities

Responsible for handling the daily operations of the accounting department including: 

  • Process and reconcile all inter-company invoices and payments. This includes following Head Office month-end reconciliation and payment procedures
  • Reconcile the bank transactions daily and investigate any discrepancies
  • Reconcile and update the monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Upload and reconcile sales data from the invoice system to the accounting system
  • Post manual sales and inter-department invoices
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager
  • Work on special projects and cross train in other accounting functions, as required.

 

Key Performance Indicators & Metrics (Criteria for Performance Evaluation)

KPI’s for this role will be determined as part of the annual PMP process, but could include:

  • Timely and accurate maintenance of the General Ledger, monthly closing process, and quarterly reporting.
  • Accounting policies and procedures should be up to date, in effect and well controlled.

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Self-motivated and self-managed with high degree of honesty and integrity.
  • Must possess excellent knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and Outlook. Strong Excel skill level required.
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and handle confidential information
  • Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Individual and team work ethic
  • Possess an energetic commitment to work and quality.
  • International experience: previously dealt with a global business model, a plus

 

Experience and Educational Background Required for the Job

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business Administration, or Finance
  • 1-2 years related experience
  • CPA certification a plus
  • JD Edwards experience a plus.

 

Compensation Range: $60k - $70k annually (e.g., the job posting is not necessarily reflective of actual compensation that may be earned, and actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as locations, education, experience, and skillset).
