The Construction Project Manager – Agricultural Manufacturing will be responsible for providing oversight for the overall direction, completion, and financial outcome of the creation of a new warehouse building supporting agricultural manufacturing as well as the relocation of equipment, and installation of new facilities. The ideal candidate will possess the knowledge and experience to manage large scale  construction projects and have relevant agricultural equipment experience. The location for this ground up construction is in Winona, MN and is completely on-site.

Your role will be pivotal in ensuring adherence to quality standards, safety protocols, and project timelines while effectively managing resources and contracts.

 

What you will Do:

Contract Management:

 

  • Administer contracts, handle contractual issues, and communicate effectively with General Contractors.
  • Manage design change orders and seek approval from the Client before implementation.
  • Provide regular progress reports on safety, quality, schedule, and cost activities.

 

Schedule Management:

 

  • Monitor project progress against the schedule, identifying and addressing delays promptly.
  • Conduct coordination meetings with contractors and stakeholders, ensuring alignment on project timelines.
  • Assist contractors in developing execution planning schedules and monitor progress closely.

 

Cost Management:

 

  • Prepare and manage variation orders, seeking approval from the Client.
  • Review contractor progress claims and ensure accurate payment certificates.
  • Control project costs and report variations against the budget.

 

Quality Assurance:

 

  • Supervise civil and mechanical works, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
  • Implement and maintain a QA/QC system tailored to the project's requirements.
  • Evaluate requests for approval for equipment and construction materials.
  • Conduct inspections, certify practical completion of works, and liaise with the Client on design changes.

 

Safety Management:

 

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive safety plan to minimize risks and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and oversee safety practices on-site.
  • Provide safety inductions and training to all contractors.
  • Monitor safety performance, analyze incidents, and initiate improvements as necessary.

 

Project Aftercare:

 

  • Coordinate the completion of as-built drawings, manuals, and warranty certificates.
  • Settle final accounts with contractors and conduct final inspections.
  • Address any post-construction issues as requested by the Client.

 

Resource Management:

 

  • Ensure all on-site personnel possess appropriate licenses and language proficiency.
  • Manage full-time and part-time resources effectively, including construction managers, supervisors, and schedule, cost, and document controllers.

What you Need for the Role:

Education and/or Experience:

 

  • B.S. or B.A. degree in Construction, Architecture or Engineering or related degree highly desired.
  • Minimum of 10+ years construction project management experience preferably with knowledge of agricultural equipment and manufacturing.
  • MEP Background – by education and/or experience. No specific system is preferred over the other – mechanical, plumbing, electrical broad experience is fine.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

 

  • Strong consideration will be given to those that are PMP and LEED certified.
  • A valid driver's license is required with no significant MVA points/violations.
