Billing & Collections Specialist - Houston, TX
Paying: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Description: The Billing & Collections specialist position will be responsible billing and for managing communication with all customers to ensure prompt payments are received for billed services within the OCM Division.
Requirements:
- 2-year degree OR equivalent work-related experience preferably within Collections/Account receivable field.
- Three years’ experience in a fast-paced office environment, knowledge, and the ability to use Microsoft Excel proficiently is required.
- Detail-oriented, articulate, and a passion for driving financial results and desire to help Bureau Veritas, exceed our financial targets in regard to billing and collections.
- Candidate must have strong problem solving skills, written, verbal, and electronic communication skills, and excellent presentation and listening skills.
- A self starter who can work independently, and be proactive, personable, and able to respond positively to the challenges of a dynamic work environment.
- The ability to quickly understand and size up opportunities and/or problems and respond with creative, innovative ideas and solutions is necessary.
- Position may require minimal local travel.
General Duties:
- Processing and submitting invoices to customers within the same day.
- Continued monitoring of accounts identified with outstanding debts.
- Investigate historical data for outstanding invoices.
- Contact clients to seek payment status
- Provide support in evaluating and resolving past due client accounts.
- Responsible for processing payments and credits
- Keeping accurate records and reporting of collection activity
- Escalate overdue customer accounts as necessary to manager and internal support teams.
- Manage weekly unapplied cash and allocations.
- Managing accounting inquiries in a timely manager.
Teamwork: Contributes to a positive team environment, proactively aids teammates with difficult contacts, demonstrate effective communication and cooperation with other supervisor, and members of other departments in managing department wide issues and work load. Contribute to a collaborative management process through regular meetings.
