Position Summary:

The Biologist I is responsible for performing testing following given protocols and critically evaluating the data.

 

What You’ll Do:

 

  • Design, validate and implement in vitro assays for novel therapeutics
  • Apply state of the art automation to enable compound screening in 384 well assay format or greater
  • Experience with multidrop liquid dispenser, echo liquid handler
  • Critically evaluate data
  • Develop and perform assays in receptor pharmacology including receptor binding and functional cellular readouts such as cAMP, phosphorylation, calcium and other biomarkers and molecular biology techniques such as ELISA, SDS-PAGE and Western Blotting
  • Accurate record keeping, data analysis and reporting of data.
  • Ability to be pro-active, flexible and capable of independent troubleshooting and problem solving.
  • Work in team-oriented environment within cross-functional project teams
  • Follow the guidelines set forth with clients and Company Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environmental policies and procedures.
  • Comply with clients’ and Company management systems in accordance with appropriate regulatory agencies.
  • Other duties as defined by Manager, department needs and workload

Education & Experience:

 

  • Degree requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Biology or closely related field
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in the laboratory performing experiments and evaluating data
  • Experience in diabetes and/or metabolic diseases

 

 

Schedule: M-F (first shift), forty-hours per week. However, must be flexible to meet the needs of the department and complete other projects as assigned.

 

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of above.
