Compensation Range: $22.00-$25.00 per hour (e.g., the job posting is not necessarily reflective of actual compensation that may be earned, and actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as locations, education, experience, and skillset).
Hours Worked: Typically, Monday through Friday, forty-hours per week. However, must be flexible to meet the needs of the department and complete other projects as assigned.
Position Summary:
The Project Coordinator/Phlebotomist is responsible for coordinating and scheduling all donations between requesters and our registered donors for all specimen types, for our Research Biological donations Program (RBD). They will manage the day-to-day requests, supplies, plan for any large special requests and complete information for the rewards program. They will manage any donor restrictions or targeted populations that are requested and provide redacted demographic information when needed. As a part of the RBD Program the follow specimen types may be included in this role from collect blood, urine, hair, buccal swabs, saliva, skin to special research devices. The Project Coordinator works closely with requesters and management to ensure all deadlines and criteria are met.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Phlebotomy - Perform venipuncture, and fingerstick to collections following program and test specific requirements.
- Other specimen types - Collect hair follicles, urine, buccal swabs, skin, saliva and other research collection device samples following appropriate procedures.
- Schedule clients for specimen collection.
- Schedule program work, oversee daily operations, coordinate the activities of the program, and set priorities
- Strong customer service and communication skills. Must be able to communicate professionally both verbally and written.
- Must be able to manage multiple priorities and work with different sample requests with a high level of accuracy and timeliness.
- Work closely with clients to make sure all projects’ needs are met by deadlines.
- Gather donor data, create Excel worksheets, and maintain all data with a high level of attention to detail
- A strong willingness to learn new collection devices and systems and train other phlebotomists
- Monitor and approve program requests and projects.
- Order supplies and stock phlebotomy room as needed. Clean, organize and ensure collection room is ready and meets safety, cleanliness requirements
- Maintain records pertaining to program activities.
- Attend meetings regarding new collection devices.
- Participate in using new collection devices and report feedback to the client.
- Communicate client participation incentive programs to donors.
- Follow the guidelines set forth with clients and in the company Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environmental policies and procedures.
- Comply with clients and company management systems in accordance with appropriate regulatory agencies.
- Follows the guidelines set forth by clients and the company Quality Manual and Safety / Chemical Hygiene Plan.
- Other duties as defined by Manager, department needs and workload.
Skills & Proficiencies:

- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office programs such as Outlook, Work, Excel and PowerPoint and be able to quickly pick up new scheduling and donor databases

Education and Experience:
- Degree requirement: Associate's Degree in Business or Health Science or closely related field
- Minimum of one (2) year of experience with project management, phlebotomy and coordinating programs
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in customer service
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of above.
