Lab Assistant- Retains

Hours Worked: 8-hour shifts, Mon-Fri 7 am-3:30 pm

The Retains position resides in a warehouse setting and is responsible for collecting and storing boxes of samples in a storage room. This job is not only responsible for the stocking of the shelves, but also logging information in a computer system so that there is a record of the location to find and pull samples when they are needed for testing in the future.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Receive boxes filled with samples from lab workers
• Closely follow directions to determine where to store samples in boxes on shelves
• This requires lifting boxes from the floor or from a cart, separating and sorting samples and putting them in their respective places on shelves
• Storing items carefully and accurately
• Pay close attention to the requirements of each item
• Report any issues to supervisor or higher-level employee. 
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Skills & Proficiencies:

• Proficiency in MS Office and possess ability to learn any new software.
• Basic math skills are required
• Good work ethic and highly motivated individual with ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education and Experience:

• High School diploma required; 1-2 years of related experience preferred

Physical and Travel Requirements:

• Ability to stand, bend, and be on their feet 8 hours a day.
