Summary: An entry-level accountant position that will provide full-time support to BVPI’s Accounting Department. Duties will include, but are not limited to, performing billing functions, AP processing, reviewing employee expenses, and assisting with month-end journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations. This position is located in McLean, VA with partial options to telecommute.

 

Duties and Responsibilities 

Create invoices (services and expenses) and submit to client for payment.

Review employee expense reimbursements for accuracy and completeness.

Prepare Journal Entries for month-end accruals.

Prepare Balance Sheet Reconciliations for month-end close.

Assist with the month end close process to ensure all close deadlines are met in a timely manner. Assist with annual audit.

Perform administrative duties including, but not limited to, filing and making copies.

Prepare system uploads to accurately record costs against specific projects.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Language Ability: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Math Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of MS Office, particularly MS Excel. Deltek Vision experience is a plus.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent accounting experience. Knowledge,

Skills and Other Abilities: Oral Communication skills, written communication skills, interpersonal communication skills, diplomacy, organization, planning, professionalism, reading skills and self-motivated.

Salary Range(s):$60,000-$70,000 annually 

Base Pay is adjusted based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location.
