Laboratory Technician - Canister Inspection (VOC Air Lab)

 

As a Laboratory Technician, your responsibilities are:

 

  • Assist in cleaning, preparing and repairing Summa canisters and flow regulators to be send out to clients.
  • Prepare and maintain stock of Teflon tubing and Y-Splitters
  • Co-ordinate with Project Managers to ensure on-hold canister and analysed canisters can be moved to “Ready to Clean” Status
  • Ensure area is stocked with the necessary items to complete daily tasks. (ie Swagelok parts, valves, gauges, etc)  Place orders with supervisor as necessary.
  • Proactively ensure overall satisfaction of client base including communication to project management / supervisor as appropriate.
  • Adhere to Bureau Veritas’s safety policy, quality systems QA/QC, SOP’s and external accreditation requirements.
  • Provide support to other related departments or areas as required, including acting as backup to the media entry team.
  • Provide clear, concise and accurate information to operations as it pertains to client projects (including, but not limited to rush and ongoing projects).
  • To keep their work area clean, neat and organized
  • All other responsibilities as assigned

 

You are an ideal Laboratory Technician, if you have [Minimum Requirements]:

 

  • University degree or college diploma in Sciences, preferably chemistry or environmental related and/or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in a laboratory environment an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Energetic personality that can work independently in a multi-tasking fast paced environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs and stand for long hours.
  • Good knowledge of computers (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
