 Bureau Veritas is looking for a Janitor to join our laboratory/office in Saint-Laurent, QC.

 

 

Your main responsibilities are:

  • Perform routine maintenance within the laboratory (e.g. cleaning bathrooms, cleaning kitchen, mopping and sweeping floors);
  • Ensure any safety related maintenance items are addressed promptly;
  • Perform outside building and grounds maintenance (e.g. snow removal,  spring clean-up, windows);
  • Provide support to the Facilities Supervisor as required;
  • Act as a backup point of contact for the landlord and contractors who have responsibility for maintenance of laboratory and building equipment (e.g. HVAC, make-up air unit, plumbing, electrical);
  • Any other related tasks.

 
 

You are an ideal candidate if you:

  • Have a high school diploma (required);
  • Have 1 year of general maintenance or equivalent experience preferred;
  • Are eager to learn and have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining attention to detail;
  • Proactive, have a positive attitude and great multitasking abilities.

 

 

Working Conditions: 

  • 2 shifts available: Tuesday to Saturday or Wednesday to Sunday 12PM to 8PM or 11AM to 7PM;
  • Needs to be available for overtime (1-2H after shift);
  • High level of work production (fast paced environment);
  • Hands on building maintenance work; such as: climbing, bending, lifting;
  • The job requires flexible working hours, and some extended hours as required;
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs unassisted;
  • Ability to work on your feet for long hours;
  • Hazardous materials are handled using established safety procedures and appropriate equipment.
