Senior Vice President (SVP) of Sales - Manufacturing & Industrial Construction Project Management

 

Location: Nationwide

 

Overview: The Senior Vice President (SVP) of Sales will lead our sales strategy and execution for manufacturing and industrial construction project management services. This role requires a dynamic leader with a proven track record in the industry, capable of driving business growth through strategic client engagements and sales initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales management, a deep understanding of the industrial and manufacturing construction markets, and a proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Strategic Sales Leadership:

  • Develop and implement sales strategies that align with company goals and drive revenue growth within the manufacturing and industrial construction sectors.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research and analysis, focusing on design-build and turnkey execution services.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and competitive landscape to adjust sales strategies and ensure a competitive edge.

Industrial and Manufacturing Sales Focus:

  • Develop a deep understanding of the manufacturing and industrial construction project management lifecycle, including planning, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
  • Position the company as a leader in providing comprehensive solutions for manufacturing facilities, industrial plants, and large-scale construction projects.
  • Work closely with engineering, project management, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of sales efforts with project execution and delivery.
  • Promote the company's expertise in managing complex industrial projects, including new construction, expansions, retrofits, and maintenance.

Client Engagement and Relationship Management:

  • Establish and nurture deep, long-term relationships with key clients, ensuring a thorough understanding of their business needs and aligning our services to meet those needs.
  • Represent the company at local and national industry-specific conferences to enhance brand visibility and client engagement.
  • Conduct regular client visits and presentations to maintain strong relationships and address any client concerns or requirements promptly.

Sales Operations and Reporting:

  • Oversee daily sales activities, ensuring efficient operation and achievement of sales targets.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive sales reports to executive leadership, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Utilize CRM systems to track sales activities, client interactions, and pipeline progress, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.

Market Development:

  • Identify key manufacturing and industrial companies and potential clients, analyzing market trends to forecast and develop sales plans for assigned territories.
  • Customize sales approaches based on client needs and market conditions, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and business retention.
  • Develop and implement strategies for penetrating new markets and expanding the company's footprint in the industrial and manufacturing sectors.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead and mentor the sales team, providing guidance, training, and performance management to achieve team and individual sales goals.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance sales culture within the team.
  • Ensure the sales team is equipped with the necessary tools, resources, and knowledge to succeed in a competitive marketplace.

Travel and Client Interaction:

  • Travel extensively (up to 75% of the workweek) to client sites across the U.S. to build relationships and close deals.
  • Conduct sales calls, attend business events, and participate in industry functions to enhance client interaction and sales opportunities.
  • Attend and actively participate in industry-specific forums, trade shows, and networking events to generate leads and promote the company's services.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university in a related field preferred.
  • 10+ years in the Industrial and Manufacturing Construction & Project Management sales industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to sell business-to-business services within the manufacturing and industrial construction sectors.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a sales team.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and MS Office Suite.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to charge business travel expenses of up to $3,000.
