Bureau Veritas Montreal is looking for a Laboratory Manager to join our environmental laboratory in Ste-Foy, QC

 
Your main responsibilities are:

• Provide technical expertise to laboratory staff;
• Problem-solve solutions (technical, financial and human) in order to make the company more effective and competitive;
• Ensure application of strategic plans;
• Develop and nurture ongoing relationship with Customer Service and its customers - work to anticipate their needs and how best Bureau Veritas can meet and exceed their expectations;
• Act as a positive change agent in supporting Bureau Veritas new initiatives (operational and cultural);
• Provide a sage and healthy environment for staff and customers - ensure that required training is available and certificates up-to-date;
• Develop and defend section's operating and capital budget;
• Track and justify expenditures - creates ways to optimize financial resources;
• Develop a strong and supportive relations with the General Manager - submit regular reports and suggestions for improvement on strategic and operational issues/concerns;
• Develop and nurture strong communication channels with peers in the regions and corporate partners;
• Ensure adherence to Bureau Veritas policies, ISO certification and Partners in Safety membership;
• Ensure adherence to Bureau Veritas health and safety policies and practices.

You are an ideal candidate if you:

• Have a B. Sc. in Chemistry or equivalent;
• Have 6 to 8 years of experience in laboratory environment of which 4 at a leadership level;
• Have excellent up-to-date knowledge of laboratory process and automation;
• Are fully bilingual (English/French);
• Have skills in customer service, mentoring, coaching, open communication, analytical, presentation, and overall highly-developed leadership skills;
• Are dynamic, energetic and motivated.
