Job Description 

We are seeking a highly skilled Traffic Engineer to join our team. As a Traffic Engineer, you will be responsible for the review of designed traffic management solutions to ensure the safe and efficient flow of vehicles and pedestrians. You will collaborate with various stakeholders, including government agencies, transportation planners, and construction teams, to develop and implement effective traffic management strategies.  

 

Traffic Engineer Responsibilities 

  • Review traffic management plans and strategies to optimize traffic flow and reduce congestion. 

  • Analyze traffic data and conduct traffic capacity analysis to identify bottlenecks and areas of improvement. 

  • Collaborate with transportation planners and engineers to develop sustainable transportation solutions. 

  • Conduct safety assessments and recommend measures to improve pedestrian and cyclist safety. 

  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented traffic management measures and make necessary adjustments. 

  • Stay updated on the latest traffic engineering practices, regulations, and technology advancements. 

  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and proposals for clients and stakeholders. 

 

Required Skills 

  • Strong knowledge of traffic engineering principles, practices, and standards. 

  • Ability to interpret and analyze traffic data using statistical methods and software. 

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders. 

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. 

 

 

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.  

  • Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license. 

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in traffic engineering, including experience with traffic impact assessments, traffic signal timing, and capacity analysis. 

  • Demonstrated experience working on projects with government agencies and transportation planners. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The starting wage range commences at $120,000.00 annually, subject to potential increases contingent upon factors such as experience, licenses, or certifications.
