SUMMARY:

Support the Accounting Team Lead, while liaising with Operations, Accounting, and Sales managers for a specific division (either AM, TRX, or PjM). Focus on full-cycle receivables management, contract compliance, and support of corporate and IFRS financial controls.

We require this person to be in either the EST or MST time zones. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other job related duties may be assigned in conformance with state and federal regulations.

Prepare and post timely, accurate, and informative invoices and credits based on client contract review. Analyze BV contracts/projects to determine specific invoice needs for the service(s) provided and client served.

Develop and improve invoice procedures, both proactively and in response to the changing needs/requirements of both internal and external clients. Question processes and recommend improvements.

Review contracts and participate in internal kick-off meetings, to ensure proper system set up, and propose invoice templates to meet client requirements (revenue recognition, billing, and delivery).

Reconcile Accounts Receivable (A/R) information in response to client requests, and internal needs, to maintain accurate and up-to-date A/R information. Research discrepancies and resolve problems.

Manage the collections of all invoiced programs, including resolving billing discrepancies and notating internal collection tracking software on a consistent basis.

Review outstanding receivables with Program and Sales Managers on at least a monthly basis, to ensure that all billable milestones are being met according to forecasted completion dates.

Ensure proper monthly revenue recognition and invoicing of assigned programs per contractual terms.

Participates in month end tasks related to assigned programs including subcontractor accruals, expense reclass, accounts payable entry.

Review of unidentified payments to determine appropriate application or action (return, credit, etc.).

Partner with the field staff and Project Accountant in financial support of the projects

Manage the month-end close for assigned projects (revenue, unbilled, backlog, AR, etc.).

Review monthly results with field staff during monthly meetings.

Assist in overall department goals and objectives.

Assist in the annual audit process.

Assist with ad hoc requests or projects.

Protects operations by keeping company information confidential.

Delivers outstanding customer service through timely response and proactive solutions to clients’ needs.

Demonstrates BV’s guiding principles in support of the company's strategic goals.

Follows all documented policies, Standard Operating Procedures, and Work Instructions applicable to the position and support of BV's quality standards and strategic initiatives.

Maintains safe and clean work area by complying with all procedures, rules, and regulations.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university in related field; minimum of two years of related experience. In lieu of degree, five years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability: Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and standard operating procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients, peers, and technical field staff.

Technology Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in operating a computer, having knowledge of word processing software, spreadsheet software, and project management software.
