Position Summary:

1. Contributes to the successful implementation of Bureau Veritas Inspection & Insurance Companies ASME Technical and Special Services Program.

2. Requires strong ASME Non Nuclear code working knowledge and background.

3. Focus on assisting the Technical Department and Training Department for ASME Codes, especially; Section VIII, Div. 1, Div. 2, Div. 3, Section IX, Section I/B31.1 and NBIC Part 3.

4. Participate in ASME and NBIC Code Committees.

 

Location: Remote/Hybrid

 

Will require 12-15 weeks/year of travel.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

 

1. Provides training for Authorized Inspectors, present ASME public seminars for Section VIII, Div. 1, Section IX, Section I and NBIC. Assists in the implementation of formal internal ASME training programs, and provides field offices with operational, technical, and staff development support.

2. Assist all Regions with Technical issues and any other special projects assigned.

3. Maintains an awareness of applicable regulatory and technological developments. Prepare and disseminate directives and procedures, subject to management review, to ensure proper application of inspection requirements for BV I & I Co. field staff.

4. Provide technical content for ASME Synopsis and Technical Bulletins.

Applies industry knowledge, technical skill and sound business practices to decision making.

 

Minimum Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements:

Maintains an awareness of current inspection and auditing methods and techniques; interpreting and incorporating applicable regulatory and technological developments into BV I & I Co. operations. Must have the ability to interact with management, customers and staff. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be extremely computer literate in Word, Excel, Power Point and other software oriented to Engineering proficiencies and which enhance the Technical and Special Services program.

 

Education and Experience Preferred:

Mechanical Engineering Degree preferred. Experience with ASME Non Nuclear Code as a minimum. 5 years of experience with design of pressure equipment and/or inspection activity preferred. Experience and aptitude in conveying ideas and teaching technical concepts.

 

Supervisory Responsibility:

Technical Training Supervision of classroom environments
